Ingredients
  

Ingredients for the cream
  • 500 g mascarpone cheese cold
  • 300 ml heavy cream cold, 35% fat
  • 100 g powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
For the Coffee Layer
  • 300 ml strong espresso coffee cooled!
  • 2 tbsp coffee liqueur optional, e.g., Marsala, Kahlua
  • 200 g ladyfinger biscuits savoiardi
For Finishing
  • 4 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder

Method
 

  1. Prepare Coffee
    Brew strong espresso and let it cool. Stir in liqueur if using.
  2. Make Cream
    In a chilled bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
    In another bowl, beat mascarpone, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
    Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until combined.
  3. Layering
    Quickly dip ladyfingers into the cooled coffee (do not soak).
    Arrange a single layer in a 9x13 inch dish.
    Spread half of the cream mixture on top.
    Repeat with another layer of coffee-dipped ladyfingers.
    Spread remaining cream on top.
  4. Chill & Finish
    Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 3 hours .(Best - overnight)
    Just before serving, dust generously with cocoa powder.
